By the nose alone, I have to believe this smells like what the British aristocrats were drinking as they planned the Empire. It just speaks of the drawing rooms of stately Victorian homes. Nougat, burnt embers, leather, butterscotch, thyme, and just a suggestion of cinnamon. The palate is taut and toned. It gets right to the point with loads of gritty tannins. Not a powerful Bordeaux, just a classic. Recommend 1 hour aeration.
