"The story of Mas la Chevalière is about exceptional terroirs. It all started with the discovery of two vineyards Peyroli and Roqua Blanca. Peyroli was planted at the end of the 1980s on a clay-limestone soil at an altitude of 400 m. The whole vineyard is dedicated to Chardonnay. Thanks to a cool microclimate, this place is made for great white wines. Roqua Blanca is divided into a number of small plots, like a mosaic, and is perfect for black varieties. Altitude, soil composition and exposure make a perfect balance to the climate of the region." -Winery notes
