"In 2003 comes from vines in Vinha da Pisca, Vale do Pinhão and Ferrão. It has a very opulent bouquet with penetrating crème de cassis, blueberry, cloves and orange rind. There is a touch of white pepper sprinkled over the finish that is silky smooth and sensual. Dirk Niepoort himself was not enthusiastic about this vintage, however I thought it had matured well and his efforts to eradicate any over-ripe fruit paid dividends. This is a luscious and flamboyant LBV, yet one that does not dispense with balance and finesse." -NM 10/2014
