"The 2017 Vinha do Malhó, an equal blend of Petite Sirah and a hybrid known as Centurion (Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan), was aged for 12 months in new French oak. It comes in at 13.9% alcohol. Black fruits, precision and a big finish are noticeable, but it has mid-palate finesse, too, and plenty of flavor on that finish. This seems solid in the mid-palate but also refined. It is brilliant overall. You can drink this now. Holding it another year or two would be good too. It will then age for a couple of decades. There were 2,880 bottles produced." -MS 07/2022
