Sylvain Pataille Marsannay Blanc 2017
The 2017 Marsannay Blanc, which contains fruit from newly planted vines in Couchée, was showing some reduction on the nose, though underneath that reduction, it feels quite waxy and resinous at the moment. The palate is more indicative of the wine, displaying a fine thread of acidity, plenty of citrus lemon, lime, and minerals, and a precise, lively if slightly abrupt finish. Once the nose awakens (and it will), this will be very fine. Drinking window: 2020 - 2026.
