Chateau La Louviere Pessac Leognan Blanc 2012
"This is mostly Sauvignon Blanc with a bit of Semillon. Sauvignon Blanc goes wild with age. This is all kiwi and fuzzy peach and dragonfruit but with an undercurrent of the way marshmallows smell when you cook them over a fire. The way a field smells when filled with hay. The palate is something else entirely. A little bit of Semillon goes a long way. When Semillon gets some age, it is one of my favorite textures. There is a bright oiliness to aged Semillon, like a pumpkin puree. Both serious and delightful, and certainly one of my favorite white wines I’ve had this year."
